I love your grandfather's yellow roses-my mom has a bush (yellow) that was her grandmother's. She gave me a piece off of it, but my lawn guy ran it over before it ever had a chance to establish itself, sigh. The lawn guy is history-and so is my lovely yellow rose bush. You have inspired me to find a new one for fall planting for our new house (no lawn guy). Maybe this one can have a fighting chance?!
