Farewell Sampson

Sampson went back to his owners' farm today.  I think he did a great job this year, as both does had healthy adorable kids.  With 2 doe/kid pairs that both needed separating, I didn't have any place to put him anymore.  I wish we had another enclosure and could keep him longer.  He is a very sweet buck, and he especially loves Daisy.  He never acted aggressively with me or the kids, interestingly, he did threaten Matt a few times.  Hmmm.  Last year the does cried all day after he left.  This year, I don't even think they looked up from their kids to notice that he was gone.

On a related note, today Matt and I celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary...apart.  When Matt left with Sampson, he dropped him off and continued on to Ottawa for an installation.  Ah well, he has lots of time to make it up to me.
