Keeping cool in the heatwave.

Every time I put these 2 down on the grass together, they pee in unison.  Weird.

Mirror images?

I love these babies.

Surprised again!

Yesterday during the excitement of Daisy's delivery of Mickey, I noticed that Lily was not herself.  She wouldn't let me touch her anywhere below her neck.  She is normally very easy to handle.  Damon and I checked her into the wee hours of morning, but when nothing else seemed to be happening, we went to bed.  When I woke up at 7, I rushed out to the barn to see if she had started labour...
...and I found her like this.

Isn't she the prettiest thing ever?

Kidding time, FINALLY!

When I took care of the goats early this morning, I didn't notice any obvious signs that Daisy might be going into labour.  More of the same pre-labour signs.  About 2 hours later, Campbell was playing soccer and came in yelling that Daisy was lying down in the barn.  As I grabbed my camera and some old towels, one of the kids screamed "There's a head!".  By the time I got there, the baby was out except for his legs.
Introducing Mickey, or "A boy named Sue".  Born on my mother's birthday, she got naming privileges.
Drying him off.
Bonding time.  Daisy did a fantastic job licking him (and anything that got near her tongue).

He was born 4 days before his "due date".  He seems healthy and strong and he feeds like a champ!  Now to find a good pet home for the little guy.

I love how happy Kira looks when she is playing!

Go Kira!

Funny, the boys always have to be reminded to talk to their teammates, but I've noticed that Kira and her teammates never STOP talking to each other (although it isn't always about the game).

What do you think of my new front door?  Campbell and I are stripping the old dark grey door.  It is a work in progress,  we work on it during the day, but I need to put it back up at night.
